RICS Regional Office cities, where is living the most expensive?

Mercer has published its semi-annual Cost of Living Survey, ranking 143 of the world's largest and most important cities from around the world.

The survey measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment.

Cities are indexed in comparison with New York (= 100).

Moscow is keeping the top spot as the world's most expensive city to live in (index 142.4). The cheapest city is Asuncion in Paraguay.

Contrary to 2007, there appears to be a widening gap between the world's most and least expensive cities.

London is third, losing its second place to Tokyo. How are the other cities hosting RICS World Regional Offices doing?

6th. (5th in 2007) - Hong Kong
22 (15) - New York
15 (21) - Sydney
39 (44) - Brussels
