The first Integrated Regional Strategy (IRS) is known as 'Sustainable Futures'. It was published by EERA in 2005 to provide a clear statement of regional priorities and an overarching context for the development of regional strategies in the future.
During 2006 and 2007 the IRS is being reviewed to ensure that it is fit for purpose as a high-level strategy for sustainable development in the East of England. At the moment, EERA is at an awareness raising stage and any comments on the principle sustainability themes and the intended process for reviewing the IRS are very welcome.
