Dr. Michael Anikeeff FRICS, Professor and Chair of the Edward St. John Department of Real Estate at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School was awarded the Richard T Ely Distinguished Educator Award by Lambda Alpha International.
Michael is a prominent fellow in the RICS Americas region and actively supports the organization in its education and research areas.
The award was announced in June at the International Lambda Alpha Conference in Dublin, Ireland by Ackneil M. Muldrow II. This award is presented to the person who has achieved excellence within the academic world in the field of land economics.
The award will be given to Dr. Anikeeff at the United States National meeting of Lambda Alpha International in Los Angeles, California in October 2007.
Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics, was founded in 1930 under the leadership of the renowned land economist and champion of academic freedom, Richard T. Ely.
As an honorary society, it provides a forum for the study and advancement of land economics where the "winnowing and sifting" of ideas takes place in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Individuals who have made notable contributions to the study and ethical practice of land use are invited to join Lambda Alpha International.
Michael Anikeeff joined the RICS as a fellow in 2005 and belongs to the Washington DC regional Chapter.
