RICS Chief Executive Louis Armstrong said:
"On behalf of RICS I would like to warmly congratulate Christopher on his success. During his term as RICS President he developed a powerful message about the significance of the property sector in any economy.
"He was a pioneer of independent, strategic property consultancy for corporations, bridging the gap between the business world and the property sector."
Christopher Jonas has held numerous positions as a director, chairman, trustee and board member during his career in property.
He spent many years at the helm of Drivers Jonas, the oldest established Chartered Surveying firm, and has been instrumental in the UK pro bono sector.
Jonas founded ProHelp, part of Business in the Community, a network of professional firms of all types who work together on projects that benefit communities.
