Built Environment

Built Environment is a basic market grouping which is divided into five areas of specialisation, called 'Faculties'.

(There are three market groupings: Land; Property; Built Environment)

The Faculties represent the key market sectors within which surveyors practice. Some of these markets are mature, with a high recognition of the RICS brand; others less so.

Building Control Faculty
For professionals who have an interest in the regulations that govern the design and construction of buildings.

Building Surveying Faculty
For professionals who have an interest in the design, construction and management of real estate assets.

Project Management Faculty
For professionals who have an interest in the management of construction projects.

Quantity Surveying and Construction Faculty
For professionals who have an interest in the cost and procurement of construction projects.

The Built Environment Zone is where you'll find all information (news, features, events and guidance notes) relating to RICS Land Group specialisms.

These are ordered by 'Channels', which include the major and niche service lines that the specialisms represent and cover.

There is also a Built Environment area on the Member-only RICS Discussion Forums.
