Building mass housing using India Concept House (ICH)

Mass housing with India Concept House (ICH)

Owning a basic house is still a dream for a majority of the urban population: an unaffordable dream. This is set to change with the India Concept House (ICH), a housing solution that uses pre-fabricated technology and allows houses to be manufactured and assembled in less than two months.

RICS and Sam Circle Venture jointly launched the ICH – an affordable, solid, quick-to-build, sustainable housing solution for Tier II and Tier III cities in India's composite climate zone – on 07 December 2011 at the India International Centre in New Delhi.

Workshops followed in New Delhi on 08 December and in Mumbai on 09 December. These workshops helped create awareness amongst designers, engineers, building material manufactures, policy makers and financial institutions on how they can manufacture and assemble cost-effective affordable housing solutions in India.
