Categories of RICS membership

There are two alternative levels of qualification, as you may already know. MRICS stands for 'Member of RICS' - a chartered surveyor. TechRICS stands for 'Technical Member of RICS' - a technical surveyor.

Having the RICS mark after your name reassures clients, colleagues and the general public that you are fully qualified - and an expert in your field.

The reason that RICS membership commands such a high level of credibility and respect is that all our members are professionally trained and adhere to a strict code of practice.

For graduates who have just passed an RICS accredited degree or diploma, becoming a full RICS member will involve satisfactorily completing our APC – Assessment of Professional Competence.
