"Make your experience count"

Our aim is to discover why candidates have been delayed in the system; capture all those candidates who originally registered over three years ago; and to ensure that all candidates who do not apply for final assessment are automatically rolled forward for the next eligibility period.

RICS Membership Operations will be inviting these candidates to regionally held events and also invite either their employer, supervisor or counsellor to come along and support them. They will receive:

  • a presentation stating the aims of the project and how we can move candidates forward
  • a renewed list of contacts and resources available
  • advice and information on how best to proceed to the final assessment stage

The events are being facilitated by the RICS Training Advisers (RTAs) for their own regions. There will be ample opportunity to ask the RTAs and RICS staff questions and form a plan of action for each candidate to achieve full membership of RICS as soon as possible.

From these nationwide events RICS hopes to better understand and address the various reasons why candidates have been prevented from coming forward for their final assessment. Moreover, the events will provide opportunity to stress the benefits and advantages of full RICS membership.

We are asking candidates when they attend for these events to bring along an up-to-date resume with them and any record of progress or log book material that they may have already. Guidance will be given on how to re-align the competency requirements and overcome any problems.
