The first step to becoming a chartered surveyor is to enrol on the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). To do this you will first need to identify the route to membership that is most suitable for you. The routes to membership are based on your academic and professional experience.

Once you have identified the route to membership that you wish to follow you will need to request an enrolment form from RICS, email contactrics@rics.org for this. Please note that if you wish to apply for any route other than Graduate Route 1 you will also need to send us a copy of your resume.
Once you have received and completed your enrolment form you will need to send this to one of the following addresses:

Please note that candidates can roll back their APC start date by one month if they were in relevant surveying employment before enrolling onto the APC. Do so you will need to send a written request and confirmation of your employment start date to RICS along with your completed enrolment form.
