Qualifying as a Commercial Energy Assessor

RICS is offering members a streamlined route to a commercial property energy assessor qualification with a one-stop shop service including training, assessment and accreditation.

Open to experienced chartered or technical members only* the RICS energy assessment course programme offers two levels of energy assessor qualification:

Level 3 energy assessors will be qualified to undertake EPCs on commercial property with typical characteristics for example a high street shop. This encompasses approx 70% commercial property.

Level 4 energy assessors will be qualified to undertake EPCs on more complex buildings such as multi-storey offices as well as new build properties.

You can determine whether your experience is sufficient for the Level 3 or Level 4 qualification by completing the skills match available to download from this page.

The course brochure and application form (plus course dates and accommodation listings) are also available to download from the right-hand menu. It is also recommended that you read the seven steps to becoming an energy assessor.
