The RICS Inclusive Environment Consultants Scheme provides an online register of accredited property professionals who have the knowledge, experience and expertise to practise as an Inclusive Environment Consultant.
Members on the register include chartered surveyors and other property professionals who have been accredited by RICS to provide quality advice on inclusive design and the management of accessible and inclusive environments in accordance with disability discrimination legislation.
RICS Inclusive Environment Consultants are registered for a period of three years and must update and enhance their skills through a programme of continuous professional development.
Registered consultants can demonstrate their status using the letters IEC. Additionally chartered surveyors use the letters MRICS or FRICS meaning they are either a member or a fellow of RICS.
The register lists consultants alphabetically and includes a description of the service offering of each consultant.
The register is available to download in PDF format from the right hand menu.
Candidates who wish to join the scheme follow a particular application route, dependent on their previous experience:
New entrant candidates
For candidates who have little or no experience or qualifications relating to inclusive environments must undertake a relevant training course and pass the Certificate in Inclusive Environments before applying to go forward to the final assessment interview.
Experienced candidates
Alternatively, if the candidate can demonstrate significant relevant skills and/or qualifications in inclusive environments then these experienced individuals may go directly to the examination or panel interview stage without the training requirement, depending on their level of experience.
If you feel you meet the eligibility criteria as described above and you wish to apply, please complete the application form on the right hand side of this page.
