Improving your skills through lifelong learning contributes to professional and personal fulfilment, writes Jane Crittendon for RICS Business.

 Sharing information and learning from others in an essential business strategy at HLL Humberts Leisure. Every six weeks or so, staff members meet with external property industry experts to discuss topical issues.

 “It’s a really interesting way to look at the same problem from different angles,” says Tim Smith, a director at HLL Humberts Leisure.

“We keep the group to a manageable size of 20 to encourage open debate, which gives us the opportunity to learn from one another.”

 Such meetings are just one example of how companies are facilitating Lifelong Learning (LLL) in the workplace, and integrating it with day-to-day business.
