The spring meeting of the South East Section of the Society took place on 10 April at the traditional venue of the Wildernesse Club, near Sevenoaks. Wildernesse is a beautiful course and one that has been the used as a regional qualifying course for the Open.
This year the course looked unusually scenic. Needless to say, little golf took place on the day. However, society members and National Captain, Gus Stewart, who had travelled from Scotland for the event, enjoyed a morning coffee and bacon roll.
The spring meeting has been re-scheduled at Wildernesse for 12 May when the Captain of the South East Section, Marcus Godwin, anticipates more inviting golfing conditions.
Other meetings in 2006 are:
- French Tour, 24-26 May
- Summer/Invitation, Tandridge 19 July
- Autumn/Captain’s Day, Betchworth Park 11 September
- TriSection Match, Frilford Heath 10 October
