On 28 February 2007, the RICS Building Control Faculty held its launch event at the RICS offices in London.

Guests were invited from all sectors of the construction industry and building control profession, and included past presidents of the Institution of Building Control (IBC).

Speakers at the event were David Smith (RICS), Paul Swift (Faculty chairman) and the guest speaker, Angela Smith MP.
