Marine Guide 2008

RICS and the marine industry – new guide available

25 February 2008

RICS Land Group has recently launched a new A5 guide focusing on RICS involvement in the marine, offshore and coastal areas of practice.

The new marine guide will be available from the RICS stand: 1521 at Oceanology 2008, and future conference/exhibitions such as Geo-8 and FIG Stockholm 2008. (See the right of this page for links)

This new, easy to read guide contains information about RICS routes to membership, education, what members can expect from their faculties and leaves readers knowing exactly where marine professionals sit within such a large, international institution.

RICS has been heavily involved in the formulation and consultation on the proposed UK and EU Marine legislative documents in areas as diverse as coastal access to designation of offshore marine parks to hydrographic survey data specifications.

All Marine Bill documentation is available to members.

RICS also maintains links to multiple national and international marine-orientated organisations such as IHO, FIG comm 4 and IMCA.

RICS is the only global professional surveying institution to offer the alternative designation 'Chartered Hydrographic Surveyor'.

The new marine guide is available to download and is also available in hard copy on request. Please contact Chrissie Mallett cmallett@rics.org for more information.
