Geography Jigsaw II
This is the first in a series of three articles that follow on from the research work carried out by a team from the University of Edinburgh on behalf of the RICS Education Trust.
The initial project looked at whether airborne radar remote sensing can used to help evaluate carbon capacity (forestry, savannah, woodland etc) in a developing world scenario.
However, the research findings brought several other interesting elements to the fore such as affordable technology, the usage of geo technologies in the developing world, GPS networks and RTK development, derived DTMs/DEMs and SAR use in natural resource management.
This series of downloadable articles explores each of the above themes in detail.
The full RICS Education Trust research paper is expected to be released in mid-2006 with lectures planned for March (Edinburgh) and June (London).
