The Residential faculty’s mission is to be regarded as the most professional voice in residential property. The faculty covers the following areas in both the private and public residential sector – agency practice and law, valuation, property lettings and management, rent reviews and lease renewals, residential property purchase surveys, building surveys etc.
The faculty’s main aims include:
• Seeking to enhance the profile and status of chartered surveyors both nationally and internationally
• Ensuring chartered surveyors’ knowledge and experience remains as relevant as possible, while acting within the public interest
• Responding positively to existing and emerging market/professional issues that relate to residential concerns
• Identifying the need for change as well as co-ordinating and formulating responses to changes within the context of government policies.
The faculty is also responsible for setting and maintaining the APC/ATC competencies that make up the APC/ATC pathways for residential property surveyors.

About the board
The Residential Faculty board sets the strategic direction of the faculty by way of a three-year, rolling business plan. Staff work in partnership with the faculty board to deliver the business plan.
