Event Overview
This year's Annual Dinner will be held at The County Assembly Rooms in the Bailgate. The evening will include drinks on arrival, a 5 course meal and casino tables. All profits will go to LionHeart and a charity to be chosen by the Chairman.
We successfully secured Marianne Suhr as our after dinner speaker. Marianne is a Chartered Building Surveyor specialising in the repair of historic buildings. After completing a scholarship with the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings she worked for 7 years in architectural practice. She gave up her desk job to concentrate on practical projects, and is currently restoring her third house. She was a co presenter during 3 series of BBC2 ‘Restoration’ and has also fronted the Discovery series, ‘Project Restoration’. She also works part time for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, running workshops around the country, teaching builders, homeowners and architects how to repair old buildings properly. She has recently co-authored a book entitled ‘Old House Handbook’ published by Frances Lincoln.
