More than a dozen members of RICS matrics Norfolk enjoyed an enlightening guided tour of the Cathedral church of St. John the Baptist. The visit to the Norwich Roman Catholic Cathedral, included a trip to the top of the building’s magnificent tower and a rare opportunity to see the breath taking views across the city of Norwich.
As numbers on the tour were restricted, places filled up fast and Lottie Egerton, the group’s social secretary, was overcome with responses.
The trip followed the group’s very successful visit and tour of Norwich’s Church of England Cathedral. The committee felt a similar ‘behind the scenes tour’, specifically laid on for matrics members of the Roman Catholic Cathedral, would provide an interesting contrast.
Jon Nelson, chair of RICS matrics Norfolk, said: “Thanks go to Lottie for organising an excellent event. It was great to see so many of you again at the tour and also some new faces, which is always pleasing and I look forward to seeing you at future events.
“Following these two very successful ‘behind the scenes’ tours, future tours are currently in negotiation and changing the monastic theme slightly, we hope to bring details of these to you in the not so distant future.”
The group are currently finalising plans for the RICS matrics Norfolk annual summer barbecue. The event has proven to be very successful in previous years, and this year the group once again hope to hold it in July / August at the Eagle Pub in Newmarket Road, Norwich, which has hosted some very successful matrics barbecues in the past.
