More than 1200 delegates attended this year's SAPOA (South African Property Owners Association) convention and joined in the 40th birthday celebrations for the association.

The RICS South Africa (SA) stand was visited by more than 250 people during the convention as it was prominently placed alongside the University of Witwatersrand’s display and the refreshment station.

Sanitha Naidoo said that from the 250 visitors to the stand she has already followed up with 30 potential members. 'Even existing members popped by to introduce themselves.'

RICS SA took part in the networking functions during the convention including the opening cocktail session and awards dinner.

Sanitha Naidoo said that RICS SA’s relationship with SAPOA is strengthening.

'I’ve had a meeting with the events co-ordinator at SAPOA and we’ve agreed to involve each other in our events and future planning. Another aspect we will collaborate on is press work. We have joined forces with their PR agency for a press release about our new board, as well as an interview with the chairman announcing the location of RICS at the SAPOA offices'.
