Final assessment interviews come to Cape Town

23 February 2007

RICS is delighted to announce that the first local South African final assessment interviews took place in Cape Town in February 2007.

Planning interviews over such a wide geographical area as South Africa can prove quite a logistical challenge - it's more likely that candidates and assessors need flights and accommodation to reach their assessment venue, rather than a 30-minute drive down the motorway! Congratulations to all involved.

The APC infrastructure in South Africa has developed well. The country's two licensed assessor trainers - Robin Roper and Barry Probert - have now trained 15 assessors in total. Those who finally put their training into practice in February interviewed candidates from the Management consultancy and Quantity surveying and Construction pathways.

Helen Andrews - the new Admin and Development Manager for South Africa - is also a welcome addition to the team.

APC development in South Africa could not have gathered such pace without the tireless efforts of the local members. With a growing number of candidates and more assessments to be planned, this is just the beginning. Watch this space!
