Welcome to the RICS.org section for South Africa.

There are approximately 540 Chartered Surveyors in South Africa, the majority specialising in Quantity Surveying or general practice. Most of the general practice surveyors in South Africa are full time commercial, industrial and investment property valuers.

The majority of the Quantity Surveyors are also members of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors. Practising Quantity Surveyors in South Africa have to be registered with the South African Council of Quantity Surveyors, which is the statutory regulatory body.

Property Valuers have to be registered with the South African Council of the Property Valuation Profession, the statutory regulatory body.

RICS accredited education courses are provided at a number of leading Universities across South Africa. But local examinations or APC are necessary for RICS members wishing to practise in South Africa.
