RICS China launches Assessor Club

Assessor club of RICS China has been launched successfully in Shanghai and Beijing simultaneously during 12-13 April, 2008. A total of 26 assessors attended the two-day activity and witness the lauch of Assessor club.

After two years of preparation, it is time for RICS China to create a community of assessors with common interests. Assessors are part of a panel that is responsible for interviewing the candidates to decide whether they have the knowledge and skills to become a Chartered Sruveyor.

In order to ensure consistent and quality standards and facilitate information exchange among assessors, Assessor club will play an important role and be developed step by step to be a core activity for all assessors.

Henry Li, the Chairman of RICS China Board and S W Lo, the member of RICS China Board hosted the ceremony and followed by a seminar held in Beijing and Shanghai separately. The seminar was organized to brief members about  the objective and rules of assessor club and introduce the additional services, such as assessor's birthday celebration and health care information and etc.

During the seminar, assessors were enthusiastic to discuss and solve problems arising from APC process in the past year.  They were also updated on policy and professional knowledge to keep up with the current APC process.

Ernest Leung, Senior Manager of RICS Asia Pacific Education and Development came from Hong Kong especially for the Seminar in Shanghai and brought in the latest knowledge from RICS HQ to enable assessor to be more professional in the future APC process.

As part of the program, assessors were given opportunities to play the Golf course and relax in the transquility of the nature. Until now, RICS China has about 120 assessors and hopes more assessors will join the club and contribute to the sustainable development of RICS China
