08 July 2008

RICS Thailand announced the first RICS Scholarships to be awarded to students at Thammasat and ABAC Universities.

The cash prizes of Baht 50,000 each are awarded to the top 3rd year student from each university who is studying on an RICS-accredited bachelors degree course.  The lucky winners, who achieved the highest Grade Point Average at the end of their 3rd year, are:

  • Ms Harshpreet Kaur Anand from ABAC and
  • Ms Sasikarn Sorasit from Thammasat.

"We hope these awards will cover the major costs of the final year degree for these students," said Simon Landy, Chairman of RICS Thailand.  Mr Landy continued, "We hope to be able to continue offering these scholarships on an annual basis as they demonstrate the RICS’ commitment to education, excellence and encouraging the growth of a strong profession in Thailand."
