Charles Blincow - recipient of Outstanding APC Support award

During the recent RICS Presidential visit to the UAE, David Tuffin presented the first Regional award for outstanding APC Support.

This award, that is intended to be presented annually, is intended to recognise the outstanding contribution of an individual in the field of APC support.

It was fitting that the first recipient of this award was Charles Blincow, Charles received the award for ‘Outstanding APC Support Award’ at the Cocktail Reception during the President's visit.

Charles, who is Director of Contracts Services with Blair Anderson Ltd, was initially trained as an assessor and organised and conducted many of the early interviews in Dubai as chairman and assessor on the APC panel.

Now as a licensed Assessor Trainer he has conducted many assessor training sessions, councillor/supervision sessions & candidates workshops.

Since the expansion of the APC in the Middle East he has travelled through the region setting up APC interview systems in various countries.

Charles comments ‘Whilst the voluntary work is demanding at times, it is also rewarding. I get a lot of satisfaction from the success of individuals who gain membership of RICS through the APC process. A further benefit of being involved in the APC is meeting a lot of interesting and dedicated people from a variety of backgrounds’.
