The annual Curtin University, Department of Spatial Sciences Student Prize Awards was held on Friday 2 May 2008.

For the time since the Bachelor of Surveying course, within the Spatial Sciences department, was RICS accredited in 2006 the West Australia Branch of the RICS sponsored a student prize.

The RICS award for Best Third Year Bachelor of Surveying was awarded to Dustin Bridges.  Dr Rob Corner from the Department of Spatial Sciences awarded the prize on behalf of RICS WA.

Dustin Bridges picked up several other prizes during the ceremony including:

• Best student in the area of analytical and close range photogrammetry
• Best student in the subjects of engineering surveying and mine surveying
• The Curtin University of Technology, Department of Spatial Sciences Excellence Award for Best third year student in the Bachelor of Surveying
