We are now well on the way to a full staff complement at RICS West and I think I can confidently predict that we will be at full staff strength by the Summer.

The build up to this stage has taken rather longer than anticipated but I believe it is essential that we get the right team on board and this can take time.

With our existing staff, and the new ones who have recently or will soon join us, I can tell you that you will have the best RICS team possible!

We’ve recently employed our Careers & Education Executive, Ruth Putt, and she is based at the University of the West of England.

We also welcome Lisa Cooper, taking up the new role of Member Services Manager for RICS West. Lisa, who will be based at the West Midlands regional office in Birmingham, has worked for RICS for several years in the Education and Qualifications Standards department.

She will become the line-manager for the four Member Services Administrators working for the RICS West team. We welcome Lisa on board and know that her knowledge of RICS will be immensely valuable in taking this challenging role forward across the two regions.

Looking at the range of activities on offer to the profession in the region and the good level of engagement of members in RICS affairs, I am confident for the future. RICS is the envy of other professional bodies for its commitment to supporting regional operations, and this is underpinned by the strong partnership the staff team in the West Midlands has with members.

Nevertheless there is no way we could do what we do without you and I am thankful to members for this. We will always continue to improve on how we operate in the West Midlands and we look to you for guidance to help us continually improve our services.
