Housing (Scotland) Bill - Parliamentary Evidence

20 May 2005

On Tuesday 19 April 2005 Ian Gillies, Honorary Secretary of the Residential Faculty Board, and Elizabeth Bruce, Assistant Director of RICS Scotland, provided oral evidence to the Scottish Parliament Communities Committee. This evidence related to the Single Survey, as proposed in the Housing (Scotland) Bill.

Ian and Elizabeth, alongside the Council of Mortgage Lenders and Surveys Online, were ‘grilled’ by the committee for approximately an hour and a half. If you are interested in reading the transcript from the meeting please view the Scottish Parliament link attached.

In addition to the Parliamentary evidence provided on the Single Survey, RICS Scotland will be making a written submission on the entire content of the Housing (Scotland) Bill, which includes sections on Houses in Multiple Occupation, The Private Rented Sector and The Tolerable Standard.

If you would like to see a copy of this submission, please contact Rhona Macdonald rmacdonald@rics.org  in the Policy Unit. T: +44(0)131 240 0897.
