APC workshop events were organised by several RICS matrics branches this autumn.

Glasgow West matrics hosted a CPD session with Alan Melvin, RICS Training Advisor for Scotland on 2 October entitled 'APC/ATC - Getting Started' where Alan spoke about his 12 Pillars of Wisdom' and offered candidates advice on getting themselves qualified.

Geraldine Quigley of Jones Lang LaSalle, an APC Doctor for the Building Surveying route was also on hand to offer candidates with advice and support throughout their training period and make candidates aware of the external support available from APC Doctors.

The event was very well received by all who attended and was so popular that there was standing room only! A great deal of new faces were present at the event and many have voiced their support for matrics and have promised to attend future events.

RICS matrics Scotland Edinburgh and East and Tayside and Fife branchs also hosted successful APC workshop events in October. On both occasions Alan Melvin spoke to local newly enrolled APC candidates before answering questions. These events have become very popular and places are quickly snapped up.

RICS matrics Highlands & Islands branch will be hosting their annual APC workshop event with Alan Melvin in May 2009. Anyone interested in attending should email highland.matrics@rics.org
