RICS has responded to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' consultation on the draft Marine Bill.
Key points from the submission are that:
• Further data capture should be undertaken;
• A marine map of the sea should underlie Marine Management Organisation (MMO) activity;
• More personnel are required to make the MMO operate effectively;
• A data steering group should be established to deliver new priority data;
• Planning should be delivered in a consistent and coherent manner across the constituent nations of the United Kingdom; and
• Fisheries data should be made available to government;
