Globe in Hands

Summary of RICS key issues

With a diverse membership covering over 170 specialist areas in 146 countries, RICS could potentially spread itself too thin if it tried to be all things to all men.

On a comprehensive level, we try to ensure that all practitioners have access to the information they need to excel at their jobs. Through our Knowledge Team we provide helplines, library services, guidance, practice standards and organised events.

However, when it comes to influencing key issues of the day that impact upon all our lives in a major way, RICS is single-minded.

We only target our policy and promotional efforts at local, national or international issues where surveying can have a genuinely positive impact. These are issues that either transcend boundaries or provide lessons that could be applied elsewhere in the world.

We want to ensure that we learn from the mistakes of the past and enhance, wherever possible, the environment our children will enjoy tomorrow.
