The challenge for the Olympic Delivery Authority, is to deliver the Games and their legacy in a sustainable way, on time and to budget. To do this, they will need to work with some of the best designers and construction companies in the world, many of them based in the UK.

Chartered Surveyors, and especially Quantity Surveyors, have the professional knowledge and experience to offer advice on a whole range of issues relating to the planning, construction and maintenance of projects the size and scope of the 2012 Games.

 

RICS’ position in a sentence
The design, construction and management of the Olympics and Paralympics site in London for the 2012 Games is a unique opportunity for the UK construction industry to demonstrate it’s capability on a world stage and must be used to create a positive legacy which can act as a catalyst for regeneration in East London.

 

RICS’ recommendation
Using experienced professionals, such as Quantity Surveyors, in the procurement process will help ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget.
