BCIS research suggests that nearly 80% of tender documents are still sent to and fro as hard copy in boxes, although increasingly more are sent by disc.
So why should we change?
Firstly, this situation is not sustainable.
Secondly, distributing and using electronic documents is easier than distributing and using hard copy documents.
The tender process is one of selecting contractors and agreeing a price, which requires the exchange of large amounts of information - all of which is prepared in electronic form.
