The Technology Strategy Board has invested £20m in UK manufacturing to help companies maintain and develop their international competitiveness.
Investments like these will support new research that help develop technologies, products and systems.
Four of the projects funded have direct relevance to sustainability in the built environment:
- Carbon neutral construction products using novel cements
- sustainable innovative lightweight expanded clay-glass ('SILEC-G')
- BALEHAUS: the manufacture of sustainable prefabricated housing from renewable materials
- sustainable, high-value construction products from domestic black bag waste.
Further details of these projects can be found on the Technology Strategy Board Extranet via the link to the right of this page.
