Building Services Engineering: University of Salford Questionnaire

14 May 2008

The University of Salford’s School of Built Environment is leading an investigation to produce employer-focused provision of higher education in an area of the economy that is currently overlooked and in great need – building services engineering.

Building services engineering appears to be under-represented in higher education. There are few progression routes for further education, with virtually no progression agreements between colleges and universities – there is clearly a need to establish the visibility of higher education in this area.

The Centre for Education in the Built Environment based at the University of Salford has secured funding for the Greater Manchester Strategic Alliance special project that will examine the need for a ladder of opportunity for higher education in this area.

In response, a questionnaire has been designed to target human resource/senior managers working in the industry.  The questionnaire's main objective is to find out their business needs and skills gaps. It should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and the information that you give will be treated confidentially and shall remain anonymous.

If you would like to complete this questionnaire, please follow the link to the right of this page.
