RICS become a key ally of the European Commission in its challenge to encourage consumers, business, industry and governments to opt for energy efficiency.
By joining the Campaign as a media associate, RICS not only express its commitment to change the landscape of energy in Europe, but also benefit from participation in a European network, representing main energy actors engaged in a wide range of sustainable energy projects and able to offer a range of multiplier actions through their various and effective communication channels.
With a clear vocation of serving public interest, RICS, together with other international organisations, will use their skills and expertise to raise awareness of the benefits to use sustainable energy sources and energy efficiency in the built and natural environment.
Among other activities to promote the energy sustainable Europe campaign, RICS organises a conference during the second edition of the EU Sustainable Energy Week, the key annual reference point for sustainable energy issues in Europe that will be held in Brussels from Monday 28 January to Friday 1 February 2008.
European Commissioner for Energy, Mr Andris Piebalgs said:
"Energy Policy is not only about legislation, but also about communicating, hearing, and bringing together all stakeholders. With the European Sustainable Energy Week, the Commission leads the most willing stakeholders to undertake together a real European energy revolution", said Energy Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs.
