Consultation response to HMT on tax incentives for development of brownfield land

06 February 2008

RICS has commented on a consultation by HM Treasury on tax incentives for development of brownfield land.

In a letter addressed to the Government RICS welcomed proposals to introduce 150% relief for expenditure on remediation of long-term derelict sites.

RICS believes this measure will greatly assist developers and land owners who struggle to achieve appropriate balance in the economic viability of these sites.
