15 March 2006

The Regulations Implementing Directive 2001/84/EC on The Resale Right for the Benefit of the Author of an Original Work of Art came into force in the UK on 14 February 2006. Statutory Instrument 2006 No 346 made on 13 February sets out the terms by which the resale right will operate. The administrative processes by which auction houses implement their obligations under this legislation is a matter for individual firms to agree.
