Borrowing
RICS members can borrow books and audio visual material free of charge. Search the library catalogue.  Return a loan or photocopying form to us with your requests (please email or fax if you have more than three items) or contact us if you need further help  t +44 (0)870 333 1600 x3714 library@rics.org f +44(0)20 7334 3784. Journals cannot be borrowed but you can request photocopies of articles (subject to copyright law, charges apply).

Returning books
Borrowing and the posting out of loans is free to members worldwide. Books can be returned in person to either London or Edinburgh libraries, or by post. Returns should be sent by Royal Mail 'Special Delivery 12' in the UK or registered post elsewhere. Members are responsible for the safe return of borrowed items.

Loan period
28 days. 14 days for CPD study packs and audio cassettes. Borrow up to six items at a time (four for students). UK members should receive items within two to three working days of the request, if immediately available.

Renewals
Use the online catalogue to renew your books. Login details: User id - membership number. PIN date of birth backwards eg 28 July 1962 becomes 19620728. Books may be renewed twice providing there is not a waiting list for the item.

Fines
£5 per overdue item charged on a monthly basis, eg £20 for four overdue items. Avoid library fines by returning items by the due date and informing RICS of any change of address.

Unavailable items can be reserved. Items not held in the RICS Library can be borrowed from other libraries on your behalf. There is a charge for this service.
