RICS Regulation in Asia
Regulated firms in Asia
RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is the world's leading qualification when it comes to professional standards in land, property and construction.
For the first time in its history, from June 2007 RICS began regulating Firms in the UK regarding firm obligations. Firms were invited to sign up for regulation and around 10,000 firms in the UK are now regulated by RICS.
The overwhelming success of the regime for Firms in the UK allows us to offer regulation to Firms outside the UK. After much research we decided to operate the first non-UK regime in Hong Kong.
Unlike UK based Firms where registration was compulsory for Firms with 50% or more Member principals, registration for regulation in Asia is on a voluntary basis so firms have the choice to opt in to be regulated by RICS.
