Information papers are often designed to provide a quick alerter on a changing area of practice, as a pre-cursor or support to the production of weightier practice standards.

Information papers are intended to provide information and explanations to RICS members on specific topics of relevance to the profession. The function of information papers is not to recommend or advise on professional procedures to be followed by surveyors.

They are, however, relevant to professional competence to the extent that a surveyor should be up to date and should have informed him or herself of new information papers within a reasonable time of their promulgation.

RICS members can download information papers for free. Non-members can purchase electronic copies from RICS Books.

All information papers can be downloaded from our award-winning subscription service, isurv.
