LionHeart

LionHeart is the benevolent fund for past and present members of the RICS and their families. It is an independent charitable company, which is neither funded or managed by the RICS, but governed by a Board of Trustees who are RICS members.

The charity relies heavily on voluntary donations and fundraising by RICS members and corporate support from firms in the property industry to raise over one million pounds each year to fund a range of services.

How do we help?
LionHeart provides advice and information by experienced advisors who are able to listen sympathetically and in confidence to any problem and to help callers find solutions or refer them to others who can.

Befriending and visiting is offered by local volunteers drawn from membership of the RICS, and telephone counselling can be provided by qualified staff. In appropriate cases financial help by grant or by loan according to individual circumstances.

Who do we help?
Amongst the 1% of RICS members and their families helped each year are those who have suffered bereavement, accident, ill-health or disability, unemployment, family problems or difficulties in retirement.

How can you help?
Each year RICS members are asked to include a donation to LionHeart which is pre-printed on the subscription notice. This year members are asked to donate £15, a relatively small amount - less than 5 pence a day - for this worthy cause.

This is a voluntary payment. You may change the amount on the subscription form and we will amend your payment accordingly.

If your subscription is paid by your employer without the addition of a donation to LionHeart you can send a personal cheque to LionHeart, or take out a direct debit. Your donation will make a difference.

If you are a UK tax-payer you can increase the value of your donation by £4.20 at no extra cost by completing the making a Gift Aid declaration on the form, enabling LionHeart to reclaim the tax paid on your donation.
