Welcome reception to the new European Parliament
Published 21 September 2009
On 5 October, the European Housing Forum (EHF), co-chaired by RICS, is organising a welcome reception for the new European Parliament.
This reception, taking place on International Tenants' Day and UN World Habitat Day, will bring together EU stakeholders and decision makers with an interest in housing.
Not an EU competence, housing is directly affected by several EU decisions, and therefore needs to remain high on the EU agenda.
This welcome reception will start at 6pm and will take place in the European Parliament, right after an afternoon conference organised by the International Union of Tenants (IUT), titled "Tackling the financial crisis with a new deal for affordable housing".
Michael Newey FRICS will present on behalf of RICS and as CEO of the Broadland Housing Group (Norwich, UK) on the provisions of affordable housing, comparing the UK and Australia.
