RICS Matrics South Wales: Site Visit - Palace Theatre and Networking

Overview

RICS Matrics South Wales are hosting a site visit followed by a networking reception in Swansea.

R&M Williams have kindly granted RICS Matrics a return visit to view the project as it nears completion.

The building boasts an impressive 135-year history, originally constructed in 1888 as a pub, this landmark spent most of its life as a bustling theatre, but after sitting in a state of disrepair since 2006 it is now undergoing renovation works converting the space into offices for business use.

This site visit will provide members and candidates the opportunity to see how APC competencies such as health and safety, construction technology, programming, and planning, building pathology and many more are applied to unique and prestigious project. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about a complex and technical restoration and change of use project.

The site visit will be followed by a food and drinks reception at The Founders & Co. in Swansea. The reception is open to those who are able and unable to attend the site visit.

The site visit will commence at 16:00 and will conclude at around 17:00. We will then attend The Founders & Co. at 17:30.

Tickets are free and entitle the delegate to a main meal of their choice from one of the pop up kitchens and a beer/wine/soft drink at The Founder & Co.

Please note:

1. There is currently a site compound which parking will be available, however, please be prepared to find alternative parking closer to the time.
2. We encourage all delegates to bring their own PPE (Hard hat, hi-vis vest and steel toe cap boots). If you do not have access to a hard hat or hi-vis these will be provided by R&M Williams on site.
