RICS transparency project
Welcome to the RICS transparency in professional fees/commissions project.
Transparency in fees/commissions in both the residential and commercial property sector has been in and out of the news for some time. Anecdotal information suggested that there may be unwelcome practice in this area.
RICS wanted to look at what was actually happening and as such established the Transparency Working Group (TWG), which consists of RICS members and independent people.
The TWG issued a consultation paper in April 2009 inviting comments and held a number of stakeholder meetings across the UK. The consultation ran to July and the TWG issued a summary report outlining the main themes arising from the consultation responses in October 2009.
The TWG has now issued its final report and recommendations. The TWG would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to the consultation and take part in the stakeholder meetings.
Next steps
The TWG looks forward to working with all those individuals and organisations with an interest in the recommendations set out in the report.
