Covers the appointment of surveyors as arbitrators, independent experts, mediators, adjudicators, and other dispute resolvers.
The note provides advice to surveyors who are appointed to resolve disputes, either by the RICS president or directly by the parties to a dispute, on dealing with conflicts of interest and involvements. It also seeks to inform the disputing parties and others involved in the dispute resolution process as to the relevant considerations and the procedures likely to be followed.
The guidance was updated in June 2013 to include a Scottish Addendum.
