An environmental assessment method, the SKA rating focusses on the non-domestic fit-out market. It looks at the key sustainability issues relating to a fit-out and rates a project on how well it performs against key issues.
The SKA rating one day foundation course covers the philosophy and methodology of the SKA rating system. The course provides a high level overview of all the sustainability issues that relate to non-domestic fit-outs. It is the first part of a training programme that enables people to become accredited as Office, Retail or Higher Education Assessors.
Registering as a SKA rating accredited assessor
Delegates wishing to become a SKA rating accredited assessor to undertake quality-assured SKA rating assessments on behalf of organisations will be required to undertake additional training online. There are three schemes you can join: SKA Offices, SKA Retail or SKA HE.
Following successful completion of the online Office/Retail/HE exam you will need to register as an assessor. You must:
- sign a declaration of your commitment to the RICS rules relating to SKA rating
- pay a registration fee.
On receipt of the signed declaration and payment you will be registered as a SKA rating accredited assessor for the appropriate scheme (Offices and/or Retail and/or Higer Education). The accreditation will provide you with:
- visibility of your details to clients on the SKA rating register of accredited assessors
- exclusive access to the SKA rating assessor virtual online community
- exclusive licence to certify fit-outs via the online tool.
I would like to thank all concerned with a fantastic educational two days on the SKA assessors training. The venue, lecturer and content were all top class.
