BIM Implementation and Benefits Realisation

Seminar Birmingham, 22 Mar 2018

Harnessing the benefits of the latest BIM technology

The adoption of BIM offers as host of advantages to the construction sector, including: improved maps and plans; reduced workload duplication, leading to increased loss of waste and improved efficiency; the fostering of collaboration within and between teams working on a project; an improved level of control for those overseeing the project; and a tool for conflict resolution and prevention because everyone is working to the same ‘reality’. Nonetheless, as with any new technology, the benefits can sometimes be harder to realize than envisage in practice.

Relevant to anyone responsible for implementation or management of a BIM system, this seminar will explore how the theoretical benefits of BIM can be turned into a concrete reality.

  • Overview of potential benefits of BIM
  • What are the obstacles to benefits realization?
  • Practical guidance to solving the challenges:

    - Training and the human element

    - Getting the technology right for your needs and ensuring continued support

    - Building robust processes
  • ‘Futureproofing’

The published time is when registration opens. The seminar will begin 30 minutes later.

I think it is very informative, the lectures are always of a high standard and give good value in terms of CPD.
Local venues suit people who are not based near the usual city venues... Much better when trying to fit these talks around work.
