From our headquarters in New York City, RICS in the Americas represents the interests of members in the USA, Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean.
In the Americas, RICS brings value by harmonizing real estate, construction and valuation industries that are interdependent. The region’s membership of more than 3,400 individuals work throughout the property lifecycle from land management, through to planning, environmental impact assessment, and investment appraisal to managing the construction process and advising on the most efficient use of buildings. They have the advantage of RICS’ technical standards that coordinate all specializations and have access to a diverse network of professionals who offer knowledge and business opportunities.
Our members' expertise covers real estate, construction, valuation, brokerage, planning and development, and dispute resolution.
The 20 chapters' activities and programmes are generally managed by members, with support from RICS staff based in New York and Toronto, for the benefit of members and contacts located in the region.
They help connect members across the region in order to:
- Deliver value to existing members through networking and professional development programmes
- Build and strengthen our brand by enhancing market recognition of our standards across the profession
- Grow our membership and sphere of influence with key constituents including members’ firms, educational institutions and government
