We are proud to announce the appointment of Mr TC Chetty as its new Country Manager for South Africa. Mr Chetty joins the organisation today and will lead RICS through the next stage of its strategic development in the country.

Percy Haggis was the first member of the Surveyors' Institution to be killed in World War One. He died on 10 October 1914 at Moerbeke. The transactions note that he was a prisoner of war who was shot while trying to escape. He was 24 years old.

This week, the press in Russia & CIS highlighted the important role of RICS bringing international standards to the market. The Russian version of the Red Book was launched and two new firms endorsed REABS at one of the most important Russian events of the year; we also played a proactive role in presenting IPMS in Cyprus.
